Last week in Prep B we read the book 'A Sloth who came to stay' and talked about slowing down to enjoy the things we love. We used the story and sloths to prompt out writing for the week. One of our writing prompts was 'what would you do you had more time....'
Aaria – If I had more time I would go to the shops with my mum, we will go get a present for my sister. She will be happy. Santi– If I had more time I would go to the swimming pool all the time. Ava-Rose – If I had more time I would play and eat with my sisters. Sophia – If I had more time I would eat some sweets and cakes and cupcakes and do some craft days and more playing. Ayrton – If I had some free time I would go to the beach and put my surfing clothes on. Martin – If I had more time I would play on the playground, I would play all the time. I would go to the shop on the bus. Kobe – If I had more time I would go to Japan more. I would watch more TV and play on the iPad. I would go to see my Nan and Pa. Seb – If I had more time I would sit on the beach and lie down with a milkshake. Maryia – If I had more time I would play outside. I would play with playdoh and do more painting. I would also like to do more art and craft. Eat chocolate and play my favorite game on the iPad. This week in writing we have been using our imaginations to write our very own stories. Each day we had a different prompt to help get us started. Here is just a few samples of some of the great work we did! Ayrton

Last week we got to leave the school together for our very first excursion! We walked to New Hope to watch the grade 5/6 students in their production Robin Hood and the Sherwood Hoodies. Lots of us got to spot out grade 5 buddies in action, they did such a great job!
For the first week back of term 3 it has been freezing! So what better time to celebrate winter and appreciate all it has to offer. We did lots of writing about winter this week, writing about what we like about winter and the types of things we wear. We wrote a poem about winter using our 5 senses and even got to make some hot chocolate!
Last week in Prep we studied the book 'The Little Red Hen'. The story tells of a Little Red Hen who finds a wheat seed and decides to plant it so that she can make some bread. Along the way The Little Red Hen gets no help from her animal friends. That is until it comes to eating the bread she has made. We worked together to make some bread and even some fresh butter.
We all agreed it was delicious! Last week in Prep B we designed our own crazy hat! We painted and decorated our hats. Then we wrote about our hats, describing what they looked like and how they made us look; beautiful of course!
This term in Prep we have been writing about animals. Each week we focus on a different group of animals. This week we have been writing about imaginary animals. We got to use our imaginations to draw a dragon, before describing our dragon, where they would live and what we would like to do with our dragons. We then built castles to display all our beautiful work. We also enjoyed a week learning about Australian animals. At the end of the week we picked our favourite piece of writing to publish.
Prep B were hard at work last week making presents for our mums to thank them for all they do for us. We all put in our very best effort to make sure our mums got to see our best work!
